The idea was to use the stereotype of indian black magic world, with a fresh new perspective. The game of snake and ladders for me, became an apt representation of the world of numerology, luck and superstition. Snake & ladder being an ancient indian game represents morality lessons, where a player’s progression up the board represented a life journey complicated by virtues (ladders) and vices (snakes). Overlapping this thought with intricate impossible geometry representing India’s crowded urbanscapes and the colour palette influenced by circus posters in india. This artwork is a call to action poster, for the game called india! Are you ready for it?
